Many said it was comfortable enough, but nobody seemed wowed by it. A lot of people complained that this mattress topper was too soft and didn’t help their backs. A few people even wrote that it was too short and not sized properly for their bed!

Sleep Innovations Gel Mattress Topper

Next, we have Sleep Innovations. They are a US-based company that prides itself on producing everything in America. They even have a laboratory where they study mattresses! The company was founded back when “Amazon was just a bookstore,” according to their website. Sleep Innovations claims that they invented gel memory foam. I have no way of proving that, so I’ll take their word for it.

Although Sleep Innovations makes both a gel memory foam mattress topper and a regular polyurethane memory foam mattress topper, I decided to look at the gel memory foam selection. If you’re considering different options, then it’s important to know what’s out there, and what the differences are. Tempurpedic doesn’t have a gel memory foam selection, and you may seriously consider getting gel.

The gel mattress toppers by Sleep Innovations are made with cooling gel beads that allow air to pass through, so the memory foam doesn’t retain heat. The cover is machine-washable and hypoallergenic. It’s made out of super-soft microfibers that give added comfort. Every mattress topper comes with a 10-year limited warranty.

Most customers raved about how nice and cool the gel memory foam kept while they slept on it. Many reviewers said that this was the best topper they’ve ever had, and one customer even said that it made their already-comfortable bed even better! Several people mentioned that after a few weeks of use the mattress topper indents where their body lays and the comfort factor is severely reduced.

If it sounds strange, Amazon’s customers haven’t noticed. Some customers said this topper gave them the most comfortable sleep they’ve ever had. The mattress comes out of the box completely odorless and ready to use. A lot of people complained that the foam tears off very easily, a big downside if you have toddlers or pets in the house.

Sleep Better Iso-Cool Memory Foam Mattress Topper

Last on our list is Sleep Better. This US-based company is a subsidiary of Carpenter. They make mattresses, pillows, toppers, and other bedding accessories. You can find Sleep Better products at almost all major retailers, including Amazon.

The Sleep Better Iso-Cool memory foam mattress topper is made with a patented polyester-fiber fill. The company claims this keeps cool at night. It’s three inches thick and includes a hypoallergenic, machine-washable microfiber cover.

Many reviews mentioned this topper gave almost instant pain relief. It stays firmly in place on top of the mattress and most people claimed that the topper degassed in less than a day. Several people criticized the topper for getting too hot during the night.

The Final Verdict

Why do people go to bed? Because the bed won’t come to them. Unless, of course, they order a Tempurpedic mattress topper from Amazon. That’s what I should have done when my old mattress started to wear out on me. I could have extended the life of it by a few more years instead of buying a new mattress on credit. Maybe when this mattress starts to go, I’ll do just that.

Because most of the competition doesn’t hold up to the Tempurpedic mattress topper, you’ll be buying one of the better options. A lot of bedding manufacturers don’t include warranties, and that’s a big turn-off for me. If a company is too afraid to stand behind their product, why should we as consumers? I love that Tempurpedic and Sleep Innovations offer long-term warranties because it tells me that they are very confident in their products.

All things considered, the Tempurpedic mattress topper is the second-best mattress topper you can get. You’ll get a more comfortable mattress topper if you spend a little more money and go with the Sleep Innovations gel memory foam. If you want a good balance of price and quality, backed by an incredible warranty, I recommend Tempurpedic!
